My main goal as a hobby breeder is to raise healthy, happy pups that are fully prepared to seamlessly integrate into your hearts and homes! To that end, I….
-Provide weekly video updates! On their Birthday for Weeks 1-3, I will send out a short group video each week. On Week 4 Birthday, I send out 2 photo collages- one of the boys and one of the girls, showing each puppy individually, as well as a short group video. On Week 5 Birthday, it is time to choose your puppy!
You will receive short, detailed videos of each puppy that is available when it’s your time to choose. On Weeks 6 and 7 Birthday, I will send an individual video of your chosen puppy!
-Starting at just 3 days all the way to 17 days old, I practice Early Neurological Stimulation exercises on my puppies. This helps with their tactical development, as well as providing a huge boost to their immune system development. -Mama dog and her puppies will live in a spacious crate in my house for the first several weeks, where I can keep a close eye on everyone, and monitor their health and development. When I feel they are ready, I begin slowly introducing them to the outdoors in limited, supervised segments. When they are old enough, they move into their mamas regular kennel with her so that they can become accustomed to outdoor smells and sounds, and this also gives the mama space to help start them on their potty training. I believe this is a crucial step. Having their mama lead by example that they are to do their business outside of their cozy space, not inside it, helps them later to easily recognize that your house is their cozy space, not their business space, and leads to very easy potty training.
-Starting at 5 weeks, I take them all together on a short drive. Once their initial drive is complete, I will take each puppy on one short individual drive per week to get them acclimated to riding in the car, so that they are better prepared to accompany you on all of lifes adventures!
-Starting at 6 weeks old, I take one puppy each day and place them in a puppy sling while I do our kennel chores. I find puppy slings both fun and functional, because they can accompany you anywhere, and they can also be invaluable when you have a vet appointment. For any individual appointment, I let the puppy ride to the vet on my lap in the car and then place them in the sling to take them in. This helps them feel safe and secure , tucked in their puppy sling right on you, in the ‘scary’ aka new environment of the vet office.
-I do a general vet health check at 4-5 weeks old, and take them in again at 8 weeks to get their Health Certificate.
-I follow the recommended guidelines by the American Association of Veterinary Parasitologists and the CDC for deworming my puppies. We deworm at 2, 4, 6, & 8 weeks. A detailed record of all dewormings and shots is sent home in your Puppy Packet so that your vet can easily see what they have been given so far, and give recommendations moving forward with previous treatments in mind.
